Overview
Shakai Dam is a Clay Core Earthfill Dam (CCED) under construction in South Waziristan, designed to a height of 32 m and a length of 490 m, with a gross storage capacity of 3,600 acre-feet across a 36 sq. km catchment. The scheme’s irrigation network — the Shakai Right Canal — will serve a culturable command area of 900 acres via a 5,130 m concrete-lined rectangular main canal and a 2,050 m branch canal.
CIV Tech Associates holds a 75% share of the assignment, delivering feasibility, detailed design, and construction supervision, including design review and revision, geotechnical investigation, PC-I revision, on-site supervision, quality control planning and monitoring, progress review, and overall project management, including handling of contractor interim payment certificates (IPCs).

Implementation Approach
Holding a 75% share of the assignment, CIV Tech Associates is providing continuous on-site supervision as the dam and its canal network are constructed in parallel, with quality control monitoring applied at each stage of embankment and canal works.
Conclusion
Once complete, Shakai Dam will bring perennial irrigation to 900 acres of farmland in South Waziristan — a strategically significant water infrastructure investment in a historically underserved region.
