Overview
Located approximately 10 km upstream of Thal on the Kurram River, where a gross head of 59.72 m is available, the Chapre-Charkhil scheme is designed to deliver 10.56 MW of run-of-river hydropower capacity to the national grid.
As a joint venture partner with Electra Consultants, CIV Tech Associates holds a 30% share of the assignment, contributing to prequalification and evaluation of EPC contractors, basic design of the office and residential colony and access roads, tender documentation, and construction supervision and commissioning.

Implementation Approach

Chapre-Charkhil extends CIV Tech Associates’ hydropower track record to Kurram District, applying the ADB-financed delivery model established at Balakot to a smaller, community-scale scheme.
